This leather tankard is modelled on a wooden example found on the Mary Rose during the recovery.
Historically, leather tankards were lined with either boiled resin of the birch tree, Brewer’s Pitch, or Beeswax. This full grain leather tankards are lined with an epoxy resin to echo the historic use of resin whilst having the visual appearance of Brewer’s pitch. The resin use fully certified for use in both the food and alcohol industries.
These tankards are stamped with the Tudor Rose on the main body of the Tankard and 'Mary Rose 1511 - 1545' on the base.
Please note that there will be variations with each tankards.
